Nite Lights

Check out our latest product range that we have just taken on.. Nite Lights

All the way from New Zealand, we bring you Nite Lights... Tried and tested by our team here at The Highwaymen these lights are quite literally selling themselves.  We decided it was about time to feature them on our website and make them that little bit more accessible to the general public.

We've been using the Destroyer 1200, Revalation 1200, and Uranus Tail Light 500... and not only can you see everything around you as if it was daylight, but you're even more visible to others around you. Put it this way, if you were riding at night with a set of these lights, and a car managed to knock you off your bike... then they're officially blind!

Take a look at the incredible spec of these lights... then take a look at the competition. These offer the best value for money lights we've seen!

Not convinced? Come in and take a look :-)

November Update

Well the last few days has been really hectic here.. with our sale kicking off and loads of repair work coming in all at the same time it's been busy to say the least.

Since our clearance sale started only days ago, we've sold out of several items that we had, so please keep an eye on the clearance / sale page to see what we still have for an absolute bargain -

We've also been doing no end of odd repair work recently, it seems that there's quite a demand for skilled hands at the moment. Armed with our industrial sewing machines, and sometimes a needle and thread, we've been fixing, repairing, and building all manor of bits from golf buggy roofs, tool belts, kit bags, luggage, sails, and of course kites!

End Of Season Sale

It's that time again, the end of the season..

Over the next week or two Ben and myself will be doing a full kite stock take, and writing up a massive clearance sheet with all our festival kites that need new homes for the winter.

There will be some cracking bargains to be had, as the festivals give the kite packaging a bit of punishment, there will be a selection of ex demo kites, and kites with no packaging at all that will be going up for grabs at some fantastic prices!

Keep an eye out on our home page, and facebook page for any updates on our end of season sale

Classic Power

Last week I found out that my brother-in-law had been involved in a serious accident at with a chainsaw and his arm. Without going into to much gore, they saved his arm and happy days...

While he was in hospital, bored.. he'd been looking to get a power kite after playing on one of my Ozone Imp Trainer kites. Having done plenty of reading, and listening to some stories about what some of the kites used to be like... he ended up purchasing a Flexifoil Blade II 6.4m on a morphine fuelled whim!

I used to have a two kite quiver when these kites were current, a 6.4m and a 9m... the 9m I ran on a 2 line bar with a cross over kit. There's such a great feeling of nostalgia when I see these kites now, and you'd think that the modern kites would massively out perform these old girls. Pace wise, yes, the new kites are in a whole different kettle of fish, but as for out and out grunt and power, these kites are absolute machines!

The ironic thing is that, he's ordered this beautiful monster from ebay, he's not going to be fit to use it for some time since the chainsaw cut a third of the way through his arm and bone... whilst he has my every sympathy, I will be stealing this kite and making the most of it while he's out for the count!

Which kite is it that you have a soft spot for? I'm pretty certain we all have one!

Peter Powell Stunt Kite

A few weeks ago we had a customer contact us regarding his old Peter Powell stunt kite.. he had crashed it nose down and the tail end of the kite had torn clean off the sail, making the kite totally unable to fly.

So having received the kite through the post, we set about making a template for the 65g ripstop sail, and cleaning up the fibre glass framework so we could use all the original parts, apart from the damaged sail of course.

We hadn't seen one of these kites for many years, and we'd forgotten how simple they were, and what it was that made them such great kites.  In short, the size of these kites really made them so super stable that they were perfect for all abilities to get on and learn to fly.

Take a look below at the final result, we need to do a little bit of testing to see if the bridle needs tweaking as it's only been done by eye due to the original kite's bridle being damaged too.
